Pharmashelve hits India

Pharmashelve, the specialist range of pharmacy shelving, storage, merchandising and dispensing draw solutions manufactured by Crusader, one of the UK’s leading retail display design companies based in Manchester, has just been launched at a prestigious pharmacy in India.

Reliance Wellness, part of the Reliance Industries Group has just opened a 2,000 square foot store in Mumbai showcasing the Pharmashelve brand and is the first of 3 pilot stores to use the highly acclaimed pharmashelve range of products. The initial pilot scheme will be testing the suitability of 45 pharmashelve bays across the 3 stores before the units are installed in 1,200 stores in India over the next 2 years.

Reliance Industries is India’s largest company by market value and currently has a turnover in excess of 27 million US Dollars. The group has many business interests globally including a range of specialist retail businesses covering a number of main street sectors.

Pharmashelve has proved so successful since its launch in 2005 that Crusader has now launched an expanded product range including back to back, half width, half depth with work tops, and draw units, plus a pharmacy preparation table and a number of options which include additional draws.

Originally only available in the UK, Pharmashelve is now marketed worldwide with sales and distribution channels available across Europe, India, America and the Far East. Discussions are also at an advanced stage to launch the product range in Latin America.

Pharmashelve is the latest pharmacy shelving and storage solution developed by UK based Crusader specifically for pharmacists who are faced with the problem of limited storage and display space within a retail pharmacy. Since its original launch, Crusader has invested significant resources into research and development in order to bring an ever expanding range of Pharmashelve products to the market. Pharmashelve ultimately frees up space within a pharmacy and has many unique storage and display features that can only be found on the Pharmashelve product.

Steve Turner, Director said “India is currently the largest single market we have taken Pharmashelve too. Whilst the initial pilot scheme is for a relatively small number of 45 bays, the total contract available over the next 2 years will be huge and could total as many as 15,000 units or more. On the back of the standard bays, there is also an opportunity to have further products in the Pharmashelve range specified.” Steve continues “This is all excellent news for all involved at Pharmashelve and the additional revenues generated will assist in accelerating the launch of the full range of products to currently untapped markets”
